Enjoying the Bay

Before I left the bay I reviewed my Bay Area Bucket List. This list was overambitious to say the least but once I decided that I’d actually be moving I wanted to make sure I crossed off a few of the cheaper and easier items.

–  Go stand-up paddle boarding. (Sea Trek) This is one of those things that I’ve always wanted to try but haven’t so one Saturday before I left I drIMG_4571ove up to Sausalito. It was beautiful out but the wind made it pretty difficult to go very far into the bay. If you haven’t tried it before I really recommend going especially since you really can’t fall down on those things. Really, it’s not very hard. Plus the guy at the place I went to even came out in the water with me to make sure I got a hang of it.

Saké Tasting. (Takara Sake) There’s this amazing saké place in Berkeley where you can do a tasting of 20150805_1455537 sakés for $5. It’s pretty awesome. I’ve been wanting to go for a while and finally found a time for me and a friend to go over there. I have to say that I was pretty impressed with the variety of saké that exists. And the girl working there knew everything about saké. I think my favorite was this sparkling saké called Mio. Yumm!

– Yoga on the Labyrinth. (at the Grace Cathedral) The Grace Cathedral in SF is huge, as in massive. They do a (free) yoga class every Tuesday nights and I’ve been wanting to go for a while. You have to get there really early to get a spot, one of the girls working told me that they typically have over 500 people attend. Geesh! The class was an awesome pace and not too strenuous. Its a beginners class but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who hasn’t done yoga before because it’s really hard to see the instructor. What’s awesome about it is that they have live music playing the whole time. Yoga, in a beautiful place, with live music, who could ask for more?? Another positive of dragging myself all the 20150804_193406way into the city to do this was I got to crash my friends dinner who I didn’t think I’d see before I left.

Amazing yoga class with about 500 other people. Beautiful Cathedral with live music. I really do need to go to yoga more.

Pole Dancing Class. (at Phoenix Aerial) Again this is one of those things that I’ve said I was going to do for the last few years but just never got up the courage to do it. I’m glad I got to get this in right before I left (literally the night before). I will say that the girls there are super intimating and the place I went to was not very welcoming. Overall though I’m glad I went, thanks to my friend for coming with me and encouraging me to go!!

(No pictures of that one haha!)
