My 9 Day Vietnam Itinerary

I chose to go to Vietnam rather randomly and wasn’t really sure of what there was to do or see there and yet when I began looking at stuff to do there I realized 9 days was just not enough time! I had to make some tough decisions about what to leave in and what to cut out so that I wasn’t too stressed out but that I still saw everything I really wanted to see. I was looking around online before I left and I found a lot of two week itinerary’s which was too long for me while the one week plans didn’t incorporate all of the cities I wanted to see.

Here’s my plan including links to where I stayed for the places I liked, some pictures and some of the tours I booked. Check out all my posts about Vietnam!

I booked my train tickets through Although they were a little more expensive then booking them at the station I wanted to be sure that I got on the exact train that I was planning for.

Best Experience: Both Snorkeling in Nha Trang and everything about Ha Long Bay was amazing! Check out everything else I did during my quick stay in Nha Trang.

Favorite City: Hoi An. It’s just such a cute and beautiful city! It’s extremely touristy but I couldn’t help but be impressed by the lights, the water and the delicious food! My post How to Be Princess in Hoi An details how awesome this city it!

Worst Moment: Trying to get to my hotel from the airport in Hanoi extremely late at night after my flight had been cancelled and I was bumped to a different flight. Luckily Vietnam Airlines has an extremely cheap shuttle service so that I didn’t get ripped off by a Taxi! I’m glad I found it while I was sitting in the airport trying to figure out what to do!

Regrets: Not having more time in Ho Chi Minh. Since I missed my flight I really had a very short amount of time in the city. I wanted more time to just walk around and take it all in.

What I cut out of my itinerary that I wanted to do: Hue, the Mekong Delta, Sapa. I’ll just have to go back!
